Nine unique fashion collections lined up for Vancouver Fashion Week 2023

Vancouver, B.C. - Nine talented students from Vancouver Community College's (VCC) Fashion Design & Production Diploma program are set to showcase their graduation collections at Vancouver Fashion Week. The highly-anticipated show will take place on April 14, 2023 at 5 p.m. at David Lam Hall, Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver.  There will also be an invite-only fashion show for high school students to experience earlier in the day. 

The upcoming graduation fashion show promises to be a dynamic and creative display of the students' unique and diverse design perspectives. With each designer bringing their own sartorial outlook to the runway, the audience can expect to see a range of styles, materials, and techniques. 

"This is an incredible opportunity for our students to showcase their hard work and dedication over the past two years," says Sarah Murray, Program Coordinator, VCC Fashion. "We are extremely proud of what they have accomplished and can't wait for the world to see their exceptional designs." 

The students have been working tirelessly over the past few months to perfect their collections, which feature a mix of ready-to-wear, streetwear, and avant-garde pieces. The designs are inspired by a variety of themes, including artificial intelligence, architecture, and cultural heritage. 

Those interested in getting a sneak peek of the upcoming collections can check out a preview of the designs at vcc.ca/fashionshow. The preview features sketches, fabric swatches, and mood boards that offer a glimpse into the students' creative process. 

"After a lot of hard work, we are eager to share our grad collections at Vancouver Fashion Week" says Tia Rose, VCC Fashion student. "We hope to make industry connections and inspire those around us."
