Lunar New Year greetings from VCC president Ajay Patel and leadership
Dear VCC community,
Many members here will be celebrating lunar new year on Wednesday, January 29, welcoming the year of the wood snake. I extend my warmest wishes for a year filled with wisdom, resilience, and prosperity.
In eastern culture, the snake symbolizes intelligence, transformation, and strategic thinking—qualities that inspire us to navigate challenges with agility and embrace opportunities with confidence.
The wood element represents growth and adaptability. As we continue our journey together, let us approach the year with foresight, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.
VCC is proud to host lunar new year celebrations once again this year at both the Downtown and Broadway campuses. Hosted by the Student Union of VCC and the International Education department, I invite everyone to take this opportunity to learn more about the rich culture and heritage of Asian communities.
There will be snacks, refreshments, and a traditional lion dance at the Downtown campus atrium. I hope to see many of you there!
On behalf of the VCC Board of governors and the leadership team, I wish our students, employees and those of Asian heritage in our college community a happy, harmonious, and prosperous year of the snake!
Warmly,
Ajay Patel
