Modern Dance 1 (DNCE 1105)
Students in Modern Dance 1 explore the principles of modern and contemporary dance with an emphasis on anatomical efficiency, spinal articulation, floor work, spatial complexity, movement through space and complex rhythmical patterns. Structured improvisation is used to explore the principles of technique. All classes are accompanied by a percussionist to support development of sophisticated rhythmical sense and musicality.
