This workshop is for VCC international students. Any VCC International Students is eligible to register.
IMPORTANT: Complete the zoom registration form to get the workshop link. Workshop Description: Applying for work in Canada can involve more than submitting online applications. Employers also want to know about how you will fit into a team.
This workshop will cover:
- How to find work in Canada
- Understanding how hiring works in Canada
- Getting referrals, in-person job search
- Employment Scams Pre-requisite - none.
This workshop is a pre-requisite for several other Ready2Work International workshops. (NOTE: attendance = stay until the end of the workshop) Workshop etiquette and attendance: It is important that you keep your camera on when you attend this session, to encourage shared learning. You also need to actively participate in other ways such as offering comments and responding to questions in the chat or speaking up during discussions.
Tip to get the most from this workshop: The best way to learn career readiness skills in a workshop is to actively participate (ask questions, participate in discussions, etc..) Think of this workshop as an online work meeting – show up on time, demonstrate active listening, keep your camera on if possible, be professional, etc.. Plus – you might impress a classmate or instructor who can refer or recommend you to an employer who is hiring.
