Includes the study of intervals, rhythms, melodic, harmonic and rhythmic dictation, progressions, chord recognition and simple song transcription. Examples are drawn from the jazz and pop repertoire. Transcribing is emphasized, root movement is stressed and method is based on a numerical system. 1:0:2 Prerequisites: Rhythm Studies 1108, Materials and Structures of Music 1203.
