8 holiday gift ideas that are VCC-approved
With the holidays just around the corner, if you are looking for that special something for the loved ones in your life, look no further than these great gift ideas available right on campus!
1. For ones who love to accessorize
VCC will have a pop-up jewellery booth from Dec. 5 – 7 in the Downtown campus atrium. Do a little early holiday shopping and check out handmade pieces by second-year Jewellery and Design students made in our very own campus studios.
The booth will be open Monday Dec. 5, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Tuesday Dec. 6, 11 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday Dec. 7, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
2. For ones who want something “locally-made”
Also in the Downtown campus atrium, VCC’s Holiday Market is a one-stop shop for your holiday shopping. The market features beautiful original items created by VCC students from several programs. At the market you’ll find decadent pastries made by Baking & Pastry Arts, stationary items made by Graphic Design, original pieces from Jewellery and Design, and more. When you buy these unique gifts, you are buying local, you are getting excellent value, and you are giving twice, because your purchase supports education at VCC!
Check out the market on Dec. 15, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
3. For the fashionista in your life
VCC Fashion will have a booth at the Made in the 604 North Vancouver pop-up market on December 17 and 18. Fashion students and staff will be on site to sell tops, t-shirts, bags, and greeting cards made by students in the Fashion Design & Production program. There will also be a pop-up rack of clothes from VCC Fashion student brands, including Tia Rose Apparel, Field Trip, Jul Oliva, and Kinda Vintage. All money raised will be donated to VCC Fashion scholarships.
Visit the Made in the 604 North Vancouver pop-up market at the Pipe Shop (115 Victory Ship Way) on December 17 and 18 from 12 – 6 p.m.

4. For ones that love to get “experiences”
Here's a reason to get dressed up for a good cause. Hosted by VCC Foundation, Flourish – VCC’s signature green-tie gala event – will treat guests to a memorable evening showcasing the work of VCC’s highest-achieving students, faculty members, and alumni. In addition to tasting creations by Vancouver’s leading culinary minds, guests will experience the best of VCC's artistic jewellery, manicures, digital design, auto restoration, live music, and more. Proceeds support VCC student scholarships and bursaries.
Flourish takes place on February 28, 2023 at VCC's Broadway campus. Tickets available on the gala website.
5. For the friend who wants to show-off their VCC spirit
Share your VCC spirit and pick up VCC logo’ed hoodies, sweatpants, t-shirts, mugs, water bottles, and more at the VCC Bookstore. They also sell kitchen and nursing supplies. You can order online or buy in-person at the Broadway or Downtown campus bookstore. Please note the VCC Bookstore will be closed Dec. 16 - Jan 2.

6. For those who like being pampered
Pamper the ones you love and choose from a selection of high-end beauty and hair products or book a service at VCC's Spa & Salon. Students from VCC’s hairstylist certificate and skin and body therapy programs provide sought-after treatments at a fraction of the cost of traditional salons and spas, all under direct supervision of highly qualified instructors.
VCC's Salon & Spa is open Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Please call 604.443.8332 for appointments.
7. For the person you've been wanting to impress
With Michelin-fever hitting Vancouver, treat your favourite person to a night out of fine-dining at decidedly non-Michelin prices. In her review of VCC's Chef's Table, Vancouver Sun food writer, Mia Stainsby proclaimed "It’s like a two-Michelin calibre meal for a mere $55". This hidden gem offers a gourmet five-course prix-fix menu with optional selected wine pairings, served in a unique long-table group setting in VCC's JJ's Restaurant.
Reservations for Chef's Table can be made Tuesdays to Thursdays. Seating time is 6:30 p.m.
Impress your favourite person with a Michelin-quality meal.
8. For the loved one who has everything
Stumped on what to get? Give the gift of a gift card. VCC gift cards are redeemable at any VCC retail location, including JJ's Restaurant, Seiffert Market, Cafeterias, VCC Salon & Spa, VCC Library, Bookstores, and even used for tuition payments.
Gift cards are available in any amount and can be picked up from any Broadway or Downtown campus retail location.
