What you will learn

  • 24 hours of class per week over 5 1/2 months, followed by a 2 week practicum
  • Skills training in keyboarding and transcription
  • Individual and group work

  • Theory and practical exams and assignments
  • Guest Speakers from diverse areas of legal industry

Admission requirements

Program-specific

  • Grade 12 graduation, or equivalent
  • English Language Proficiency as demonstrated by one of the following:
    • English 12 with a minimum ‘C’ grade, or equivalent
      or
  •    English Language Proficiency at an English 12 ‘C’ level
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word as demonstrated by one of the following:
    • Completion of an introductory computer course in MS Word, or equivalent experience
  •    Evidence of a minimum one year of administrative experience (including the use of MS Word)
  • tested keyboarding speed of a minimum of 50 gross words per minute on a 5-minute test with a maximum of 5 errors

If you do not meet the requirements for the term applied, your application may be cancelled.
