President's welcome — Winter 2024
Dear VCC community,
Welcome to the start of the Winter term at Vancouver Community College (VCC). I hope everyone had a safe and restful holiday season.
The start of a new semester is always an exciting time, marked by the anticipation of new opportunities, challenges, and accomplishments. As we reflect on the achievements of the past and look forward to the possibilities that lie ahead, I am filled with pride for the vibrant and dynamic community that creates the VCC effect.
NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS
To new and returning students, welcome to the start of a new semester! Embrace the challenges and opportunities that this semester brings and know that your journey toward academic and personal growth is supported by a community that believes in your potential.
I also encourage you to get involved in campus life here at VCC. That starts with Winter Welcome Days hosted by Students’ Union of VCC and Student Services on January 9 at Broadway and January 11 at the Downtown campus. You can also find valuable resources here.
FACULTY AND STAFF
To faculty and staff, your dedication to the success of our students is what makes VCC the preferred choice for hands-on, practical skills training. As we enter this new semester, I am confident that your passion for teaching and commitment to excellence will continue to inspire and guide VCC students.
GET READY TO DON YOUR GREEN TIE
With the start of the Winter semester, VCC Foundation’s annual fundraising gala is just around the corner! Flourish presented by RBC, is a tasting event full of food, wine, and music with proceeds going towards student awards and bursaries. This memorable and engaging evening showcases tasty creations by Vancouver’s leading culinary minds and features VCC students, instructors, and alumni. This year’s gala will be held on February 27, 2024. Get your tickets today by visiting the gala web page.
I wish you all a productive and fulfilling semester. May it be a time of academic achievement, personal growth, and shared successes.
Here's to a remarkable semester ahead!
Sincerely,
