Integrated Language Support 1 (ENGL 1001)
This course, integrated with ENGL 1101, addresses the needs of non-native speakers of English who require specific help in order to meet course expectations. Students are given various proofreading and editing exercises, as well as paraphrasing and summarizing exercises. They will be introduced to effective techniques of quotation. Through multiple-draft writing assignments, they will learn the principles of effective revision.

Prerequisites
CPEN O995(with C+ or higher), 0996 and 0992 Completion; or VCC English Language Assessment (ELA) with total score of 145 with 16 minimum in composition; or IELTS overall with Band 6.5 (no band lower than 6); or TOEFL iBt score with minimum of 86 (with a minimum of 21 in Reading and Listening and 20 in Speaking and Writing); or LPI Level 4 with minimum of 24 on the essay and 5 in English usage; or ELSK 0930 (with C+ or higher); or ELSK 0920 (with 'S') and ELSK 0925 (with C+ or higher); or Active registration with CLPNBC.Corequisites
