Basic Computer Skills Level 1 is the first of the two levels of Accessible Education and Training Computer Skills. Computers are an important part of education, work and personal life. This course is designed to give students a strong foundation in basic computer skills through guided activities about basic computer knowledge, keyboarding, word processing, electronic communication and internet safety.

Students may request formal recognition of prior learning attained through informal education, work, or other life experience, including Indigenous ways of knowing. Credits may be granted to students who are able to sufficiently demonstrate the learning outcomes of CCED 0605. Methods for assessing prior learning may include demonstration or portfolio assignment. If PLAR is successful, transcripts will reflect and 'S' grade (satisfactorily completed), which is not included in grade point average (GPA) calculations. Please contact the Department for details.
