Honouring National Indigenous Peoples Day 2023

On Tuesday, June 20, the Indigenous Education and Community Engagement department (IECE) at Vancouver Community College (VCC) hosted celebrations in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day at the Broadway campus.

Each year, this day represents an opportunity to recognize the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of Indigenous communities.

Dance performances involved the groups and artists:

Urban Heiltsuk Dance Group
M’Girl
Norine Braun
All My Relations

Indigenous artisan booths and resources were also on display throughout the event. Bannock and refreshments were served while the Student Union of Vancouver Community College held a popcorn station for guests.
