British Columbians eligible for short-term skills grant in fall 2024

British Columbians over the age of 19 are eligible to receive a one-time grant to cover up to $3,500 of their tuition for select courses and programs at post-secondary institutions in B.C.

The StrongerBC future skills grant, funded by the Province of British Columbia, aims to fill much needed roles with skilled workers over the next decade. The province has renewed its short-term skills training program for high-demand fields such as health care, trades and cybersecurity.

Eligibility

You are eligible to apply for this grant if you:

  • Are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person entitled to study in Canada
  • Are a resident of B.C. and currently live in B.C.
  • Are 19 years or older or you have graduated high school by the time the course or program begins
  • Are not receiving duplicate or overlapping funding to cover the eligible costs
  • Give consent to disclose learner and registration information to the Province of B.C.
