VCC recognized for health and safety

News-NAOSHNAOSH (North American Occupational Health & Safety) Week is an annual, continent-wide event in which employers, workers, and all partners in occupational health and safety collaborate to promote injury and illness prevention in the workplace. This year’s theme was “Make Safety A Habit.”

VCC’s Health & Safety department has been busy promoting a safe work culture at the college. Some of the initiatives implemented which resulted in the college being recognized with this award were:

  • A Day of Mourning event held at both the Downtown and Broadway campuses;
  • Joint health & safety training which was held during NAOSH week;
  • A college-wide NAOSH Week contest.

“We would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s activities as well as the many other initiatives we have implemented,” says Yang Wang, VCC’s Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator. “We look forward to continued success in 2016.”
