Attracting ad-ttention
These days, Vancouver Community College is attracting a lot of ad-ttention.
VCC’s unique new advertising campaign, "Go ahead. Get skilled." and redesigned website won three accolades in the 2013 MarCom Awards, an international creative competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communications professionals.
"There were more than 6,500 entries from around the world," says Catherine Clement, executive director, VCC marketing and outreach. "Our work was all done in-house on small budgets. Yet we were competing against multi-million dollar ad agencies, PR firms, design shops, and even marketing departments in Fortune 500 companies. We were so proud to learn VCC won three awards."

The concept and design for the "Go ahead. Get skilled." ad campaign was completed in-house by VCC's team of marketing professionals. Photography was done by Claudette Carracedo. These ads are currently running in newspapers, on transit and in movie theatres.
VCC's new modern, user-friendly website was unveiled in July 2013, the result of more than a year of planning, research, design and development, also completed in-house by VCC's marketing and communications staff.
