Introduction to Practice for Non-Registered Health Care Workers (HLTH 1402)

This course is designed for out-of-province and internationally educated health care professionals seeking registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry. This course provides an introduction to the role of the Health Care Assistant within the BC Health Care System. Students will be introduced to the healthcare team, and the roles and functions of Health Care Assistants within the team. Students will also have opportunities to develop self-reflective skills required for competent practices. Prerequisite: Students are recommended to follow the BC Care Aide and Community Health Care Worker Registry guidelines regarding this course and suitability for HCA Registration in British Columbia. Please purchase textbook from Broadway Campus Bookstore prior to course start date. (30 hours)
