Introduction to Partial Dentures (DENT 1871)

Foundation knowledge and supportive dental laboratory skills related to the fabrication of removable partial dentures are introduced and practised. The knowledge, skills and attitudes that are required for dental laboratory practice of: preparing and producing working casts, model duplication, fabrication of custom trays, baseplates and occlusion rims, used of central bearing devices, setting up articulator, creating clasps, as well as the selection of moulds and shades are the foundation of the theory and applied laboratory practice of this course. Students also fabricate simple removable partial dentures.
