Health Sciences 1 (DHAC 2154)

This course provides learners with foundational knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the head and neck region, which is used as a scientific basis for understanding the human organism as an integrated, functioning unit.  Emphasis will be placed on the integration of theory into dental hygiene practice and the use of relevant, current and credible resources used in evidence-based decision-making.

The course also provides an opportunity to explore the concepts of study strategies for online learner success, learning styles, and professionalism to support the learner in their transition from their current role in health care to their role as a dental hygienist.

This course is part of the part time Dental Hygiene Diploma  Access for Certified Dental Assistants program.
