Electronic Music II (MUSC 1202)

This course continues the work begun in Electronic Music I. Students will be asked to produce 4 study pieces each term, plus a full scale composition. The course will focus on further in-depth work in digital audio, sequencing, synthesis and sound design, as begun in Electronic Music I. A particular focus will be on taking compositions to the production and mastering stage at a professional level. This course gives students some of the tools needed to keep up with the rapid pace of change in music technology.

There is also a certain amount of time devoted to listening to electronic music and discussing aesthetics and techniques. Students are encouraged to think about just what it is that they want to do with all these exciting new possibilities.
