Physicians' Orders 2 (HLUC 1210)
This course builds on the theory and practice from HLUC 1200. Students will study hematology and chemistry tests: their purpose; patient preparation; management of specimens and the principles of processing these tests. Students apply these principles by processing hematology and chemistry tests through classroom, laboratory and simulation activities. The responsibilities of the Laboratory Department, its personnel and the hospital staff are also discussed. Problem-solving techniques for processing hematology and chemistry orders are discussed and practised.
