Professional Practice (HLUC 1110)
This course provides an overview of the healthcare systems. The course is designed to acquaint the student with the organizational structure of a hospital and it's departments, members of the health care team, and the role of the Health Unit Coordinator. An operational knowledge of hospital communication devices and effective responses to hospital emergencies will be discussed and practised through simulated exercises. Basic theory, skills and practice necessary for safe performance in a health care environment are also studied.
