Foodsafe Level 1 - ESL (HLTH 1103)
The MDRT Correspondence Course provides the theory base for effective job performance as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician. This course is designed for individuals working in medical device reprocessing in primary health-care facilities, private clinics and dental clinics, but who lack formal theory instruction, for individuals returning to the workforce who need a theory refresher, and for individuals living outside of the Lower Mainland who are new to medical device reprocessing and need the theory training for employment as MDR Technicians. Topics covered include Professional Practice in MDR, Infection Control and Safety, Medical Devices, Decontamination, Disinfection, Preparation and Packing, Sterilization, Storage and Distribution, Endoscopes and Quality Assurance.
This course provides theory only for Medical Device Reprocessing, and does not include clinical skills instruction or a practicum, and is therefore not accepted by hospitals in the Greater Vancouver Regional District.
