AutoCad Level 1 (CMPT 1951)
Designed for students pursuing careers in design-related disciplines, this course teaches new users how to create professional 2D drawings using AutoCAD. Starting with a thorough overview of AutoCAD’s basic commands and features, this Level 1 hands-on course covers drawing basic objects (ie. lines, circles, arcs, polygons), modifying and changing properties of objects, working with layers, hatching, text, proper scaling and creating blocks.
Textbook (optional) can be purchased from the Downtown Campus Bookstore. The textbook serves as an excellent reference and practice material.
Please bring a USB flash drive to class.
This course has been approved for Core learning units as part of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) Recognizied Educational Provider program.

Basic operation of computers Drafting fundamentals and geometry (recommended)
