Drawing global attention to discrimination against 2SLGBTQIAS+

IDAHOBIT is an international recognition day meant to draw global attention to the violence and discrimination experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex people, and all other people with diverse sexual orientations, gender identities or expressions, and sex characteristics.

The date of May 17th was specifically chosen to commemorate the World Health Organization’s decision in 1990 to declassify homosexuality as a mental disorder.

Learn more about how the VCC community is working to end discrimination against 2SLGBTQIAS+.

The Positive Space Scholarship will honour a student who has displayed leadership in building a positive and welcoming environment for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, 2S (LGBTQ2S) community – inside VCC or in the community. ‌
