Context and Purpose

Vancouver Community College (VCC; the College) provides paid parking facilities and services for employees, students, visitors and contractors. 


This policy outlines the guidelines for parking on established College campus lots.

Scope and Limits

This policy applies to all employees, students, visitors, and contractors of the College.

Principles


  1. The College has established parking lots on all campuses.

  2. Parking rates are based on current market value and are reviewed regularly by the parking management company. Rates for Downtown parking will be adjusted automatically whenever the market prices at the private lots increase by 10% in order to maintain rates at 75% of market rates. Two month's notice is provided of any rate adjustment.

  3.   Proposed rate adjustments are approved by Operations Council.

     

  4. The College supports requests from People Services and Disability Services for accessible parking for employees and students with disabilities.

  5. Employees who are required to travel between campuses can apply to the Director Safety, Security, Risk and Privacy for a cross campus pass.

  6. Surplus parking capacity will be offered to non-college users to generate additional revenues provided this does not conflict with the needs of employees, students, visitors and contractors.
