Professional Communication (HLUC 1130)

This course examines key communication concepts and practical skills via role rehearsals of socio-cultural competencies that contribute to effective interpersonal relationships, especially in managing and avoiding conflict. This course also focuses on the development of self-awareness and increased understanding of others in the areas of cultural awareness, diversity and inclusivity. Problem solving and stress management techniques are discussed and practiced.  Professionalism in the program, in a job interview and on the job is also discussed.
