Jazz Theory II (MUSC 2215)

This course is a continuation of Jazz Theory 2115 and examines the interrelation between harmonic progression and melody in jazz and popular compositions using contemporary chord scale theory. The study of jazz/pop harmony, melody, musical form, and style will be reinforced through musical analyses and listening coupled with composition assignments. This course will provide theoretical knowledgenecessary for improvisation, composing, and arranging.
