Communications 1 (OPTA 1117)

This course introduces students to the basic concepts of effective communication, and their application in the rehabilitation process. The communication process including elements and barriers are examined in the context of the rehabilitation setting. Students gain insight into their personal interactive style and develop communication skills required for building effective therapeutic relationships. Group dynamics and the interpersonal skills required to be an effective team member are introduced and practised.
