Becoming an Ally 3 (SIGN 3400)

In this course the student examines the role of ethics in human behaviour and investigates the values underlying professional codes of conduct. The student also identifies and examines issues and challenges related to Deaf/hearing interactions within a variety of settings (school, workplace, community etc.) and explores the role and requisite skills of interveners working with Deaf-blind people and supporting Deaf people with disabilities. The class activities include discussion, role-plays, viewing videotapes, panel discussions, student presentations, and journal writing.
