Becoming an Ally 2 (SIGN 2400)

In this course the student learns to define and demonstrate principles of effective communication and to appraise his/her own aptitude as a communicator. The student develops a greater understanding of the skills and knowledge required of professional interpreters and considers his/her own potential as an interpreter or other kind of ally to the Deaf community. Class activities include group discussion, viewing videotapes, role-plays, field studies, guest panel discussions, journal writing, and student presentations.
