Basic Drafting 2 (DRFT 1102)
In this course, the student builds on the graphical emphasis of Basic Drafting 1 by studying the conventions relating to the annotation of the drawings. These include the addition of dimensions, requirements for fit tolerances and labelling of the views created. The cumulative drafting skills are then brought together in a project centred on the production of a set of drawings required for the fabrication of a mechanical component. In the second half of the course, the students further develop their 2D CAD skills by applying and adapting them to the 3D environment. Math modules in this course include practical examples in geometry, trigonometry, algebra and basic physics
This course is part of the full-time Drafting Technician - Architectural, Drafting Technician - Architectural-Civil/Structural, Drafting Technician - Steel Detailing Programs.
