Banquet/Convention Services (HOCR 0650)

The responsibilities of Banquet housepersons include the physical set up and tear down meeting rooms, dance floors, tables, chairs and linens. Server's assistants are required to attend to the needs of servers in the kitchen. Housepersons are required to perform tasks requiring heavy lifting on a regular basis, be physically fit, and willing to work various shifts, including late evenings into the early morning. This course includes training in proper table setting, folding linens, identification of glassware, and advanced safe lifting. Students may be required to obtain Serving It Right Certification if they wish to secure employment in Banquet/Convention Services.
