Arranging II (MUSC 2218)

A practical examination of four-part density arranging techniques. Concepts for solo, soli, and background writing for up to five wind instruments and rhythm section will be discussed. The methods covered in this course are applicable to virtually every style of popular music with a special focus on jazz. It is expected that students entering this course will have a good working knowledge of rhythm section writing and melodic variation and embellishment (covered in Arranging 2118).
