American Sign Language for DHH (DHHE 0615)

This is an introductory ASL course for deaf and hard of hearing students to acquire a beginner conversational level of comprehension and expressive fluency in American Sign Language. Students will accurately demonstrate ASL vocabulary and features in sentences, dialogues and stories, as well as formulate sentences using conceptually accurate signs that are based on meaning. Students will identify Deaf people as a cultural group with their own language, customs and values, and identify ASL as a distinct language with its own grammatical rules.
