Academic Oral Skills 2 (CPEN 0767)

This course focuses on the basics of academic speaking and listening skills, including note-taking, asking and answering questions in class, discussion skills, expressing opinions appropriately, preparing and giving brief talks, presenting short individual and group oral presentations, and work on pronunciation.

Prerequisites:

  • Completion of English for Academic Purposes Level 1 or equivalent, OR
  • English Language Assessment (ELA) with minimums of 12 in essay, 35 in reading, 24 in speaking and 18 in listening OR
  • Canada Language Benchmark* (CLB) 7 with min. 7 in Listening and in Speaking (* no CLBPT results)
