Adult Basic Education (ABE) Intermediate Program for Youth
Upgrade your academic training in a comfortable environment. Complete the ABE intermediate program and earn your Grade 10 equivalency while studying at the Broadway Youth Resource Centre, located off-campus. The ABE program will prepare you for Grade 11 studies at VCC or in the public school system, entry into a career program, or for employment. With individual, self-paced instruction in English, mathematics, science and social science, the learning environment in the adult basic education program is structured to meet the needs of young adults aged 15 to 18 years.

As Vancouver Community College is a post-secondary institution committed to
educating adult learners, applicants should be 18 years of age or older or a graduate of a secondary school.

Program Specific
This program is available to young adults between the ages of 15 and 18 who are in need of academic upgrading but are unable to enter other educational programs. The program is open to any student who has been out of school for at least one year or who has permission from their secondary school principal confirming a need for this program. Students may be referred through community agencies, schools, parents or students themselves.
