Interpreting and Braille Services

VCC provides a wide range of services and support to ensure that all learners have access to education.

As one of the only colleges in British Columbia to have full-time professional sign language interpreters on staff, as well as a team dedicated to the brailling needs of visually impaired students, the IBS department has garnered a well-respected reputation for its commitment to communication and equal access.

Interpreters working in the department provide an effective linguistic match to a variety of students, staff, and faculty who are Deaf and hard of hearing. Staff responsible for braille services ensures that course content is accessible, based on the individual preference of the student.
