VANCOUVER, B.C. -- More than 90 teams throughout Vancouver participated in the semi-annual Bike to Work Week from Monday, May 28 to Friday, June 1. Staff and students at both the Broadway and Downtown campuses embraced the challenge with open arms. Despite rainy conditions throughout the week, Vancouver Community College recorded a total of 655 km’s over five days.
Accounts receivable clerk, Tami Pulham lead the Broadway team to a sixth place victory in the further/higher education category just behind UBC (four teams) and SFU. In addition to bragging rights, staff and students that took place contributed to VCC’s environment and sustainability initiative by saving a total of 123 tonnes of CO2.
